Kix

KIX was founded in 1978 in Hagerstown, Maryland as The Shooze, then changed its name to The Generators before eventually settling on KIX. They were considered one of Maryland's top cover bands prior to their signing with Atlantic Records in 1981. Though often lumped in with bands that many consider to be glam metal or hair metal, the bands popmetal stylings draw inspiration from bubblegum pop and new wave as well as hard rock.

In 1981, they debuted with a self-titled album "KIX," featuring "Atomic Bombs", "Heartache", "Contrary Mary","The Itch," "The Kid." "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" instantly became a concert favorite. "KIX Are for Kids" creatively merged the name of the band with two popular cereals of the 1960s and 1970s, KIX (that featured an atomic bomb commercial) and the Trix Rabbit (i.e., "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!"). "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" became the band's most popular concert song, always with a unique ad-lib performance by Whiteman. With this album, the tongue-in-cheek rock & roll style of KIX was established. They have since amassed a massive cult following of fans that turn up in big numbers to see them everywhere they play.

Tommy James and The Shondells

"Hanky Panky," "Mony Mony," "I Think We're Alone Now," "Crimson and Clover," "Crystal Blue Persuasion," "Draggin' The Line"... The music of Tommy James is heard continuously, every day, in every country in the world: on radio, television or a film soundtrack. To date, he's sold over 100 million records and has been awarded 23 gold singles plus nine gold and platinum albums.

In 1968, Tommy and The Shondells became one of the first acts to experiment with music videos, creating a mini-film around "Mony Mony" for theatrical showings, thirteen years before MTV hit the airwaves.

After spending three months on the road that year with Vice President Hubert Humphrey's presidential campaign, TJ and company took over the creative reins of their career by writing and producing their next record, the groundbreaking "Crimson and Clover" single and the accompanying album. Released in early 1969, it went multi-platinum, and spawned two more monster hits for the group: "Do Something To Me" and "Crystal Blue Persuasion." A fourth song from the LP, "Sugar On Sunday," rose high on the charts in a cover version by The Clique. In 1970 the group released the gritty rock 'n' roll Travelin' album which contained the gold singles "She" and "Gotta' Get Back To You." Thought by many to be the band's best work, this innovative concept album was the last LP Tommy made with the 1960s Shondells.

Felix Cavaliere's Rascals

The message has always been to stand for peace, love, and happiness. For legendary singer songwriter, Felix Cavaliere, making people feel good is primary to his illustrious 50-year career that includes the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriter Hall of Fame, Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and Grammy Hall of Fame. Few artists can claim they defined a generation; Felix Cavaliere continues to remind us to keep listening for the world's beauty.

The classically trained pianist, born in Pelham, New York, idolized Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cook. Felix Cavaliere embraced the Hammond Organ and pioneered a fresh, rock and roll sound. With his band, The Rascals he was considered the best 'blue-eyed soul' group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales. The Rascals were one of the biggest groups in the country, their hits including the Cavaliere-sung "Good Lovin'," "Groovin'," "A Girl Like You," "A Beautiful Morning," and "People Got to Be Free," as they evolved from blue-eyed soul to psychedelic pop and jazz fusion. He experimented with more jazz-influenced sounds, had a thriving solo career in the 1970s and is now collaborating and writing new material as well as finishing his memoir and touring.
