Cohn, Fire, Kelly, Setterfield & More Star In David Gordon's UNCIVIL WARS At MSU 11/5-8

By:

PeakPerformances at Montclair State University will present the East Coast Premiere of UNCIVIL WARS: MOVING W/BRECHT & EISLER November 5 through 8.

UNCIVIL WARS is based on The Roundheads and the Pointheads by Bertolt Brecht as translated by Michael Feingold. Music by Hanns Eisler.

Come to the cabaret as hilariously brought to life by David Gordon in this grand interpretation of Bertolt Brecht's anti-Nazi parable The Roundheads and the Pointheads, where leaders of the fictional town of Yahoo maintain control by instigating conflict between two groups of its own citizens. Shaped by an astute adaptation by Michael Feingold and highlighted by the poignant music of cabaret composer Hanns Eisler, this brilliant music theater work makes a statement that is equally compelling in today's world.

"A dizzying experience, immediately plunging viewers into the thicket of overlapping references and characters." - The New York Times

UNCIVIL WARS is directed, choreographed and edited by David Gordon. The piece is performed by Charlotte Cohn, Davis Duffield, Norma Fire, John Kelly, Gina Leishman, David Skeist, Valda Setterfield and special guests. UNCIVIL WARS was co-commissioned by The Kitchen and The Walker Art Center.
