Cape May Stage to Swing into the 60s with BOEING BOEING, Begin. 7/31

By:

It's the swinging sixties and you're living in Paris. How do you choose to live your life? Maybe you live in a fancy bachelor pad, in the most extravagant manner possible. Maybe you're engaged to a gorgeous stewardess. Maybe you're engaged to three.

If you're Bernard in Marc Camoletti's Boeing Boeing, you do just that. Opening July 31 and running through September 13, Cape May Stage Equity theatre company presents the riotous, fast-paced farce and winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Revival, Boeing Boeing. Engaged to three different stewardesses, all working for a different airline, Bernard maintains a carefully balanced schedule to keep his three lives separate. Too bad he can only keep it up for so long. When an ill-timed visit from a friend and new, faster jet planes lead to the three women being in Paris all at the same time, Bernard must fly by the seat of his pants to keep them all apart and keep his various lies straight. An uproariously funny, madcap comedy from a French playwright, Boeing Boeing will have you laughing out loud at what happens when Bernard's life hits some turbulence.

Boeing Boeing boasts a stellar cast, including familiar faces Chris Dolman (Dinner with Friends, Art) and Broadway's Marlena Lustik (Lend Me a Tenor, Steel Magnolias), and some new ones, including Laura Woyasz (The Addams Family, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Matthew Hardy (Faith Healing with Mark Dendry, Silk Stockings), Liz McKendry (The Producers, Tall Tales of the Little Black Book), and Laura June Weissinger (A Doll House, Rabbit Hole).

The cast is joined by the experienced production team, including Artistic Director Roy Steinberg (How to Make a Rope Swing, Red) in the role of Director; Lisa Shames, Stage Manager; Robert J Martin, Set Designer; Cyrus Newitt, Lighting Designer; and Michele Sinacore, Costume Designer.

Boeing Boeing will run from Wednesday, July 31 to Friday, September 13 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at the corner of Bank and Lafayette Streets in downtown Cape May. Performances are at 8 p.m. and occur Tuesdays through Sundays. Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 seniors (62+), and $15 students. A half-price preview performance will take place on Wednesday, July 31 followed by the official opening/press night on Thursday, August 1 and Sunday, August 18 will be a special half-price night for seniors. For more information and ticket reservations, call the box office at (609) 770-8311, or visit the theatre's website at www.capemaystage.org.
