Review: BROWNIE POINTS BAKERY in Summit NJ is Charming and Scrumptious
Brownie Points Bakery in Summit, New Jersey gets high marks by doing everything right for a hometown bakeshop. In fact, we suggest you travel to the charming suburban town just to visit it. They are conveniently located right across street from Summit's bustling train station.
There's something magical about just stepping inside the cozy little spot, a completely scratch bakery. Your senses are tantalized by the scent and sight of cupcakes, brownies, cookies, lemon bars and whoopee pies. Desserts and treats are impeccably displayed. After just one visit, you will vow to return again to try some of their other confections.
Brownie Points is now in their 7th year of business and is owned and operated by Bob Conway and Peter Lloyd. The shop is open seven days a week and they also participate in the Summit Farmer's Market that is held on Sundays from May to June from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. To compliment the offerings at the market, Brownie Points sells fresh fruit pies and other favorites.
One of Brownie Points' top sellers is their very original "Duffin." This treat is a distinctively delicious cross between a muffin and a donut, ideal for breakfast or anytime. Duffins are made to perfection and are presented in a number of varieties that include cinnamon sugar, coffee cake, raspberry, chocolate and lemon glazed.
Another customer favorite is their cupcakes. Brownie Points specialties include their salted caramel in vanilla or chocolate, crème brulee, red velvet and the best vanilla ones you ever had.
And while baked goods take center stage, we highly recommend taking home a container of banana pudding or chocolate mousse. If you don't think you can wait, get a spoon. We guarantee it is one of the richest, creamiest dessert experiences you will ever have.
