River Street Theatre in Jaffrey Presents Kenneth Branagh in THE ENTERTAINER

By:
The new River Street Theatre in Jaffrey will present HD screenings of award-winning Kenneth Branagh starring in John Osborne's classic play, The Entertainer onWednesday, January 11 and Thursday January 12. There will be 4 performances of this critically acclaimed production that was staged from August to November of 2016. This is the premiere presentation of this play-on-film for the Monadnock Region.
Set against the backdrop of post-war Britain, John Osborne?s 1957 modern classic conjures the seedy glamour of the old music halls for an explosive examination of public masks and private torment. Rob Ashford directs Kenneth Branagh as Archie Rice in the final production for plays at London's 2016 Garrick Theatre season. The production co-stars stage and screen actress Greta Scacchi and Sophie McShera (Dasiy from Downton Abbey). The play will be presented in Dolby® audio and DLP® high definition projection.
The production received rave notices in London this past fall:
"Kenneth Branagh Live and its play-on-film production of John Osborne's The Entertainer is the type of breathtaking and unique entertainment we will feature at the River Street Theatre. We will have several additional exciting announcements to make over the next couple of weeks," said Steve Jackson, CEO and Managing Director of The Park Theatre.
There is a 2pm and 7pm performance of The Entertainer on January 11 and 12. Doors open 30 minutes prior to performance. Tickets are $20 (students with ID, $15). Due to the intimate size of the River Street Theatre, it is highly recommended you purchase tickets in advance. Call the Box Office at 603-532-8888 or go towww.theparktheatre.org to purchase tickets with any major credit card.
The RST is located at 6 River Street in downtown Jaffrey. Concessions (popcorn, candy, drinks) are sold in the theatre. Parking is available on Main Street.
