Piazza Italia - Opera Goes to the Movies at Broadcast Music Inc Music Row

Piazza Italia 2026, presented by the Nashville Bel Canto Foundation, returns on Friday, March 13 with this year’s theme, “Opera Goes to the Movies.” The evening celebrates the powerful relationship between opera and cinema through an immersive cultural experience that blends music, Italian hospitality, and community.
Guests will begin with an authentic tasting of Italian wines and delicacies before enjoying a staged performance featuring operatic selections that have shaped some of film’s most memorable moments. From sweeping romantic arias to dramatic showpieces, the program highlights how opera has long enriched the cinematic world.
Founded in 2021, the Nashville Bel Canto Foundation supports a post graduate Opera Academy that prepares singers, orchestra musicians, directors, and designers by recreating the structure of a working opera house. Proceeds from Piazza Italia help fund tuition, housing, and stipends for participating artists, allowing them to focus entirely on professional development.
Piazza Italia has become a signature cultural evening where artistry, education, and elegance come together in celebration of opera’s enduring relevance.
