In this charming Inn on the banks of Lake Wolfgangsee, the love or the hope for love, the quarrels and reconciliations weave a cheerful and light frame.
The story takes place during the reign of Emperor François-Joseph, whose arrival at the hostel provides a happy ending to a series of romantic complications that are are heaped around Josepha, the patron saint of the "Cheval Blanc".
