GHOST QUARTET is a haunted song cycle about love, death and whisky. A camera breaks and four friends drink, in four interwoven narratives spanning seven centuries: a warped fairy tale about two sisters, a treehouse astronomer and a lazy evil bear; a retelling of Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher"; a purgatorial intermezzo about Scheherazade; and a contemporary fable about a subway murder. Murder ballads, doo-wop, jazz noise, and raucous campfire drinking songs collide in this surreal chamber musical from Dave Malloy, composer of Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.
Thursday, October 26th - Opening night! It's "pay what you can night" and you can reserve your ticket online in $5 increments or purchase at the door! Pick your price! Friday, October 27th - There is special pricing for students and our industry colleagues for this performance. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $12. Industry colleagues? Anyone who works in performing arts in any capacity. Our special event on Friday is a post-show discussion . . . . what exactly was this show about anyway!? Join in to decipher the many intertwining stories.
Saturday, October 28th - Stay after the show on Saturday for a whiskey-tasting! Theatre Elision is partnering with the Twin Cities chapter of Women Who Whiskey to host this event. For those of you who know Ghost Quartet, you know that whiskey plays a role in this story. Molly Clark, Co-President of Women Who Whiskey will guide us through the tasting. Participants will sample three different whiskeys and learn a bit about them. While the show is open to all ages, this event is limited to 21+.
Tuesday, October 31st - Closing night is also Halloween! So we are having a special post-show party to celebrate. Costumes are welcome. Actually encouraged. Actually, we will pay you . . . with a free coupon for our signature Ghost Quartet cocktail (or soft drink if you prefer or are under 21). Plus, we will have an open mike and a chance for you to win some fun giveaways. Let's see -- show, great music, party, costumes, drinks, open mike, giveaways! Sounds like way too much fun!
