First Stage Hosts 25th Anniversary Gala, 6/9

First Stage celebrates milestone year with its 25th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, June 9. The event is also an occasion to recognize Founding Artistic Director Rob Goodman for his accomplishments during his 25 year tenure. The black tie evening will include cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner and a program featuring inspirational stories by current young performers, students and alumni of First Stage. During this program a ground-breaking new fundraising initiative will be unveiled and Rob Goodman will be presented with a very special gift in honor of 25 years of transforming lives through theater. The evening will conclude with the high-energy big band, Swing Nouveau.

Tonight, May 18, 2012, Skylight Music Theatre will open its final production of the season, Sunday in the Park with George. The Stephen Sondheim musical will be presented in the Cabot Theatre through June 10, 2012 at the Broadway Theatre Center located at 158 N. Broadway, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Students from the Daniels-Mardak Boys and Girls Club will perform FOLK TALES FOR ALL FOLK on Friday, May 18 at 6 p.m. at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 West Walnut Street in downtown Milwaukee. The performance will feature stories, music, dance, puppetry and more. There is no cost for this performance and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.

WEST SIDE STORY will open at the Marcus Center on April 10-15. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction will be recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).
