First Stage Holds Young Performer Auditions 7/13-15, 8/10-12

First Stage Children's Theater is holding general auditions for young performers for its 2010-2011 season. Auditions are held at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, 325 W. Walnut Street in downtown Milwaukee, on Tuesday July 13; Wednesday, July 14 and Thursday, July 15 from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, August 10; Wednesday, August 11 and Thursday, August 12 from 4:30 - 8:00 p.m. Auditions are available on every half hour.

Children ages 8 and above must schedule an audition date and time in advance. Registration for auditions is available online at www.FirstStage.org/auditions/interestform.asp or by sending an email to auditions@firststage.org. If registering by email, the subject line "Young Performer Auditions" must be used, and interested children must provide their name, age, name of parent or guardian, phone number, email address, and preferred audition time.

Children must prepare a memorized monologue of no more than one minute in length. A monologue is an excerpt from a play or novel where one character is speaking for the entire time; no poems, please. Children may also choose to sing a single verse of a song, without accompaniment, in addition to the required monologue. Singing is optional, but recommended if you would like to be considered for our musicals.

Children must also bring a photo with his or her name clearly printed on the back that may be left for our files. A school photo, snapshot or copy is acceptable.
