THE GRAY: A Celebration of Human Complexity at Sandrell Rivers Theater

Created and performed by Randolph Ward, this deeply personal solo dance-theater work inhabits the space between absolutes, where identity, desire, fear, ego and vulnerability collide. Through contemporary dance, original poetry, film, theatrical movement and artistic nudity, Ward confronts the contradictions people carry and the masks they construct to survive. A centerpiece is BROKEN, a 10-minute dance-film adaptation of Ward's original poem. Each performance concludes with UNMASKED, a post-performance conversation inviting audience members to engage with Ward and explore themes of identity, self-perception, masculinity, femininity and queerness.
