Association of Performing Arts of India presents a Tribute to Pandit Ravi Shankar by Kartik Seshadri on Sitar and Alam Khan on Sarode (fretless lute) Accompanied on Tabla by Hindole Majumdar. Kartik Seshadri, a disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar whose performances are noted for their "expressive beauty, rich tonal sensibility and rhythmic intricacy" (Washington Post), is a world-renowned sitar virtuoso and a composer. A child prodigy in India, he first attracted widespread attention after he began performing full-length solo recitals at the age of six. Since then he has been regarded as a musical powerhouse, performing in the world's most prestigious festivals and venues. In 2005 and 2010, Seshadri collaborated with prominent composer Philip Glass on the critically acclaimed Orion project. Seshadri performs extensively in his homeland and around the world ranging from venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, the Melbourne International Arts Festival in Australia, to the Dover Lane.

Alam Khan is the son of the legendary Sarode Maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Alam has been touching the hearts of audiences worldwide for the past 15 years. He has toured worldwide and established himself as Ustad Ali Akbar Khan's true heir and the face of a new generation of Sarode players, attracting praise and attention from musical icons such as Sitar Legend Pandit Ravi Shankar, Carlos Santana, Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, Slide Guitarist Derek Trucks and many more musicians.
