UF's All Female Acapella Group To Perform 11/19, 11/22

By:

The Sedoctaves, UF's only all-female A Cappella group is set to make their debut performance at the Squitieri Studio Theatre on Thursday, November 19 and Sunday, November 22. The group, established in 2005, is a completely student-run organization that has taken the Gainesville a cappella scene by storm.

Last February The Sedoctaves hosted and placed third in the 2009 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) quarter finals. The group's most impressive accomplishment to date was its recent performance at the Florida Women's Hall of Fame 2009 Induction Ceremony, where they were honored to meet many inspirational women and Governor Charlie Crist.
The Sedoctaves is an audition-based group comprised of multi-talented musicians working together with a passion for a cappella and a flair for the performing arts. They sing their own renditions of everything from 80s pop to current R&B to alternative rock, and their sultry voices and vibrant personalities never fail to capture the attention of all audiences, a cappella-lovers or not.
