Gretchen Fasulo as the Arts Teacher of the Year for 2006 

An Award for a Teacher That Inspires

The winner is Gretchen Fasulo, a music teacher at Sawgrass Elementary School for the past eight years. Fasulo studied music and culture in Austria and Germany and then received a Bachelor of Music Education from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Fasulo is appreciated for her innovative projects. She exudes love for music and excitement through extraordinary teaching methods that enrich the lives of her students.

For her program, Broward County Elementary Music Festival, she received the Innovative Project Award in the State of Florida; she is the assistant director of the Girl Choir of South Florida; a board member of the Broward Music Educators Association; a coordinator for the All County Chorus and a former president of the Broward County Elementary Music Teachers Association.
