First Step to Stardom Auditions Seek Young Performers for Maltz Jupiter
By: Gabrielle Sierra
Local young performers have another chance to take their ‘first step to stardom' at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
Several hundred local children participated in the Theatre's second annual First Step to Stardom audition day in April, vying for more than 200 children's ensemble roles in the Theatre's professional production of the family favorite musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Now, with 178 of those roles filled, the Theatre will host a second audition day on August 13 from noon to 3 p.m. to complete the cast."It was so rewarding to see hundreds of children come to our Theatre for our first set of auditions, and we wanted to offer that same opportunity to other local young people that weren't able to make our first audition day," said Andrew Kato, the Theatre's artistic director. "This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for kids to work with theatre professionals and to be a part of the audition process, and we're very excited to be inviting local families to our Theatre to take part in this professional show."November 29 - December 18, 2011
