Mendelssohn's Elijah

In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn's birth, the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra with guest soloists perform Elijah, a dramatic retelling of the story of the Old Testament prophet Elijah packed with action and adventure. Get caught up in the story of the people of Israel as Elijah performs miracles, invokes righteousness, and struggles against idol worship.

A Classic Christmas

An essential holiday experience, this year's Christmas program brings back traditional favorites and adds a few new arrangements. The highlight will be conductor John Sinclair's merry singalong with the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra.

Stradivari Quartet

All performing on Stradivari instruments and called a quartet of "impressively refined sound" (The New York Times), the Stradivari Quartet approaches each performance as an opportunity to tell a story about the composers, the works, the instruments, and The Players as a connected whole.

Horacio Guitérrez

This Cuban-born American pianist is consistently praised for the poetic insight and technical mastery he brings to a diverse repertoire. Be inspired by his artistry and sensitivity as you experience the power of the piano.

Red Priest

Anniversary Mass

This unique program features a "compiled" Mass, with each movement representing a different time in the history of the Festival. From Haydn's Creation to Bach's Magnificat, these masterworks have been the Society's inspiration for 75 years.

Mendelssohn and Mozart
Saturday, February 27 at 7:30pm
This program opens with music by Felix Mendelssohn, called "an heir of Mozart." Then, we experience the mystery and the splendor of Mozart's Requiem-the last piece of music ever written by Mozart. Witness the intrigue and passion of two of the greatest musical talents in our history.

Bach's Mass in B minor

A soul-stirring performance brings to life the piece that is widely considered Bach's greatest masterwork, the Mass in B minor. The Bach Festival Society celebrates its namesake with the performance of this massive warhorse of choral music.

James David Christie, Organ Recital

Praised by many as the finest living Bach organist, James David Christie presents a program of traditional organ music in honor of our 75th Annual Festival.
