THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, the dazzling musical comedy that scored five 2006 Tony ® Awards and seven 2006 Drama Desk Awards; THE WEDDING SINGER, the retro-look at the rock 'n' roll '80s whose early life as a movie became one of the major hits of the year; DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, another movie turned hilarious Broadway hit as its two leading men turn the French Riviera into a hunt for money and women; and an extraordinary courtroom drama, TWELVE ANGRY MEN, starring Richard Thomas in the challenging role of a juror searching for the truth, are announced as four of the six Broadway hits scheduled for the 07-08 Stanford Broadway Across America-Ft. Lauderdale subscription series presented by Florida Theatrical Association at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Rounding out the season will be the return of a duo of South Florida's most popular sell-outs, WICKED and THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, each scheduled for four-week runs.

The 07-08 Standford Broadway Across America - Ft. Lauderdale lineup is as follows:

THE WEDDING SINGER / October 2 – 14, 2007 It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbiemakes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of the decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. With a brand new score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980's, THE WEDDING SINGER takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer just might be the coolest guy in the room.

THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR starring the Rockettes / November 8 – December 2, 2007 Direct from New York, the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR starring the World Famous Rockettes, makes a triumphant return to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts! Most famous for their eye-high kicks and precision dancing, the Radio City Rockettes thrilled over 120,000 patrons during their Fort Lauderdale debut in 2003! In addition to "Christmas in New York," a trademark Rockette showstopper, and the tap-inspired"12 Days of Christmas," this magical production features the legendary favorite "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and the awe-inspiring "Living Nativity."

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE / January 1 – 13, 2008 Get ready to be transported to a magical, wonderful world! A world where the critics are in awe, the audiences are in heaven and the neighborhood is buzzing with excitement. Welcome to THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, the new musical comedy that is swooping into town with tons of laughs and the most 2006 Tony Awards of any musical on Broadway! It all begins when a die-hard musical fan plays his favorite cast album, a 1928 smash hit called "The Drowsy Chaperone," and the show magically bursts to life. We are instantly immersed in the glamorous, hilarious tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day, complete with thrills and surprises that take both the cast (literally) and the audience (metaphorically) soaring into the rafters.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS / January 29 – February 10, 2008 If you don't want to see this show because it's "One of the liveliest, funniest, best-performed musicals in years!" ( New York Post), then see it because the money helps pay for our grandmother's cosmetic surgery. Set on the glorious, glamorous Riviera, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS is a delicious comedy that follows two con artists as they take on the lifestyles of the rich and shameless - and end up with a lot more than they bargain for.

Wicked.JPG" width="150"/>WICKED / March 12 – April 6, 2008 When Broadway's biggest blockbuster first played Ft. Lauderdale last year, it sold out in record time. Now this popular musical is flying back to Ft. Lauderdale. "WICKED has all that a thrill-seeking theatergoer could want in a musical: stunning stage magic, splendid singing actors, a witty twist on a beloved story" (The Miami Herald). Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years.

TWELVE ANGRY MEN starring Richard Thomas / April 22 – May 4, 2008 THE GREATEST COURTROOM DRAMA OF ALL TIME! Twelve jurors. Twelve walks of life. And only two ways to rule: guilty or not guilty. What seems like an open-and-shut murder case becomes a twisted puzzle of prejudice and intrigue. Twelve jurors in a murder trial are corralled in a room for the duration of their deliberation. As prejudices are tested and evidence weighed, the entire jury is forced to look past the show of the courtroom to unearth the shocking truth. Faced with playing the hangmen, these dozen men must first face themselves. Starring Richard Thomas and directed by Scott Ellis, the National Tour of TWELVE ANGRY MEN is produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the country's leading not-for-profit theatres.
