La India is one of the most iconic and influential voices in Latin music. With over three decades of unparalleled success, the “Princess of Salsa” is the female artist with the most number one hits on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart, holding two Guinness World Records— one for the most number one singles by a female artist (11) and one for the most number one albums (6) on the Billboard Tropical Albums chart.

La India’s career began in the 1980s as a member of TKA before she rose to prominence as a solo artist. Her breakthrough came with her 1994 album Dicen Que Soy, which became a cultural milestone and solidified her place as a leading figure in salsa.
