She struggles accepting his mixed-raced children and along with another romance between a U.S. Lieutenant and a young island native, issues of racial prejudice and gender roles are candidly explored. Filled with memorable songs such as “Some Enchanted Evening”, “I’m Gonna Wash that Man Right Outa My Hair” and “Bali Ha’i”, to name a few.
