ALANIS MORISETTE’S JAGGED LITTLE PILL: THE MUSICAL
Music by Alanis Morisette & Glenn Ballard
Book by Diablo Cody
Playhouse on the Square – January 23 – February 22, 2026
Some shows you see - this show you feel. A musical inspired by Alanis Morisette’s 1995 album of the same name, this show navigates the difficulties of dealing with pain, addiction, racism, sexual assault, and the trauma that is oftentimes associated with establishing one’s identity amongst these mental hurdles. These themes are highlighted through the experiences of each member of this outwardly functional family addressing their struggles from the pressure to be “perfect.” This musical contains strong language, adult themes, drug use, and moments of sexual violence.
The 2025–2026 season at Playhouse on the Square could be summed up in one word: Renaissance. The overall quality of the productions, the size of the audiences, and the standard of excellence have all finally returned after suffering noticeably from the far‑reaching effects of the Covid pandemic.
