BORDEN is a new musical centering on the complex relationship between sisters Lizzie and Emma Borden in the days before and after the infamous 1892 murders. Rather than retelling the case through sensationalism, the musical explores loyalty, grief, identity, and the cost of loving someone without limits. Created by Cavan Hendron with co-book writer Aaron Roitman, composer Matthew Nassida, and director Neeta Thadani, the workshop is presented as part of the 2026 Voices HEaRd Women's Theatre Festival by Voices Amplified. Acclaimed Lizzie Borden historian and author Cara Robertson serves as Dramaturg and Historical Advisor and will participate in a public talkback following the June 11 performance.
