Queen Guinevere introduces the feast and festivities, but King Arthur refuses to eat until he has been told a true tale of exceptional valor. Suddenly, in rides a giant dressed in green, on a green horse, with a giant axe. He dares any of the knights to play a deadly game with him, and young Gawain rises to the challenge.
