Three Lives at Sierra Madre Playhouse

Dates: 5/22/2026 - 5/24/2026

📍 Theatre:
Sierra Madre Playhouse

Three Lives is a one-man show written, directed, and performed by Chinese-Vietnamese American artist Alex Xander Luu, playing at Sierra Madre Playhouse May 22–24, 2026. Luu portrays a father, a son, and a grandson, tracing his family's escape from Saigon in 1975 and their search for identity and belonging in America. The performance moves between memory and movement, weaving together moments of chaos, humor, and tenderness while addressing the weight of leaving home, the pressure to assimilate, and the unspoken bonds that shape us. First performed in 1989 and toured nationally for over 20 years, the show explores identity, dislocation, family ritual, and the myth of the American Dream through the lens of the Vietnam War and its aftermath.
