Spring Awakening" is a rock musical set in late 19th century Germany, exploring the turbulent journey of a group of teenagers navigating their sexual awakening and the complexities of adolescence in a repressive society, where they grapple with issues of morality, desire, and rebellion against the strict rules of their adults, all while forming passionate relationships with each other, most notably between the headstrong Melchior and the naive Wendla; the show features a powerful, alternative rock score by Duncan Sheik and is based on the play of the same name by Frank Wedekind.
