Interact Theatre Company, in partnership with the Los Angeles Public Library’s LA MADE cultural enrichment program, presents a fully staged reading of David Rabe’s "Sticks and Bones" — the 1972 Tony Award®–winning black comedy that exposes the dark undercurrents of the American dream. Fierce, unsettling, and uncomfortably funny, Rabe’s portrait of a family desperate to keep smiling remains as provocative today as it was more than fifty years ago. Directed by Rob Brownstein, Sticks and Bones is the third presentation in The Prize Winners, Interact Theatre Company’s acclaimed staged reading series, now in its fifth season, celebrating landmark works of American theatre. The cast includes John Ross Bowie, Hailé D’Alan, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Samuel Garnett, Patrick Keleher, Andrew Hill Newman, and Vivien Ngô. Produced by ITC Artistic Director Barry Heins and ITC Managing Director Kristen Egermeier, the series is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, with additional funding provided by the Friends of the Studio City Library. ITC is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture.
