With ingenious stagecraft and boundless creativity, The Tony-winning Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair... and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.

Cast and Creative team for Peter & The Starcatcher at Theatre 29

Cast

Andrew Perkins

Peter
ANDREW PERKINS (PETER) is back again, fulfilling a lifelong dream with this particular role. Since finding his way to Theatre 29 in October 2021, he has performed as ensemble in A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL, Michel in AGATHA CHRISTIE’S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, and Centipede in JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. Additional credits include Linus in YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, and Jim O’Connor in THE GLASS MENAGERIE. He would like to thank his wife and son for their love and support, for they make his performance possible.

Eliana Hicks

Molly Aster
ELIANA HICKS (MOLLY ASTER) Diving and swimming back onto the Theatre 29 stage, like the world-class swimmer we know her to be, Eliana has returned once more as our bright apprentice Molly. Previously she had been seen on the Theatre 29 stage in Alan Menken’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Ensemble/Dance Captain), MISCAST 2022 and PUFFS (Hannah/Others). Before debuting here, she attended and graduated from SDSCPA as a Musical Theatre major. She also starred in SDSCPA’s production of IN THE HEIGHTS (Abuela Claudia). Eliana would like to thank her family, friends and supporters for their love and support. She’d also like to thank Theatre 29 for continuing to kindle her love and passion for theatre. She hopes that Theatre 29 can also spark joy or inspiration for someone else as well. Finally, she’d like to say thank you for coming and she hopes you enjoy the show!

Kurt Schauppner

Black Stache
KURT SCHAUPPNER (BLACK STACHE) has appeared in dozens of productions, comedies, dramas, musicals and revues, at community theaters across the Morongo Basin and in the low desert, over the past 30 years. He has written and directed plays at Theatre 29 and Groves Cabin Theatre, wrote, directed, produced and starred in a motion picture, “Once Upon a Dirt Road,” and has written and published several books, most recently “Songs Without Words,” a collection of short stories. He is working on a new book, “Signs of Life.”

Sabrina Olsen

Prentiss
SABRINA OLSEN (PRENTISS) is a Twentynine Palms native and is no stranger to Theater 29. You may have seen her as Countess Andrenyi in MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, Sibella Hallward in A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER and the evil aunt Spiker in JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. She loves performing and is excited to be working with such a wonderful and talented group of performers.

Polly

Ted
POLLY (TED) is a Joshua tree local artist and is relatively new to theater. Acting is something that she has always been curious about, but in the past few years, she really felt a soul calling to dive in. Polly is also a painter of surrealistic art. In her pirate days, while sailing the seven seas, she found herself drawn to painting. She's been painting for over fifteen years and is deeply inspired by the desert, which is reflected in her art. Dancing and performance art is also what she loves and delves into on a daily basis. Polly is so thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful play and cast. The experience is new and exhilarating for her. To be in a play with such a beautiful storyline and classic characters is a treasure. She was a pirate in her past life and has a pirate tattoo, so it is all so fitting.

Imelda Patu

Mrs Bumbrake / Teacher
IMELDA PATU (MRS. BUMBRAKE / TEACHER) Thankful for the opportunity to work with this phenomenal crew and excellent cast, Imelda is excited to welcome you into the fantastical world of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. Beginning with her first show, Theatre 29’s SISTER ACT in 2020, Imelda has since been in CHRISTMAS CAROL, MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, MISCAST 2022, PUFFS, and the HOLLY JOLLY MUSICAL REVIEW. She’s enjoyed helping backstage for productions such as JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, and is grateful for the opportunities to learn more about all aspects of the theatre from this talented theatre community.

Joseph Rego

Captain Aster
JOSEPH REGO (CAPTAIN ASTER) is thrilled to be a part of the continuing 'renaissance' of Theatre 29. In this spectacular production, brilliantly directed and orchestrated by Ian Ferris and assisted by Jericho McWilliams, Theatre 29 continues to explore new boundaries. Commencing with A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, RAPUNZEL, PUFFS and award-winning shows such as Almost Love followed by MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. This beautiful show, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, clearly proves Theatre 29 is morphing into something quite exquisite!

Tiffany Crocker

Smee
TIFFANY CROCKER (SMEE) is delighted to return to the stage after over twenty years! She was last seen preforming in 2001 as Rolly in JACK MASTERSON AND THE CASE OF ABSURDITY and in 2000 as Beatrice in GONE WITH THE BREEZE; both here at Theatre 29. In her spare time, Tiff tinkers with various mediums to make highly personalized and thoughtful gifts. She wants to thank her husband and daughter for their encouragement and everyone here at the Theatre for making this a fantastic experience.

Dennis "Easy" Boos

Alf
DENNIS “EASY” BOOS (ALF) first found his home at Theatre 29 in 2005 when he played Pa in Theatre 29’s first iteration of OKLAHOMA!. He has been involved in various shows ever since, most recently he was seen in the ensemble of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL. Easy is also a recording artist and just traveled to Nashville to record his second album available soon on Soundcloud.com.

Danny Enders

Captain Bill Slank / King Fighting Prawn
DANNY ENDERS (CAPTAIN BILL SLANK / KING FIGHTING PRAWN) has been doing theatre for almost their whole life, but they have only just started doing theatre here at Theatre 29 the past two seasons. They made their debut as Mrs. Mops in A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE MUSICAL and most recently played Leanne in PUFFS. At Twentynine Palms High they directed and starred as Gloria in THE LITTLE WOMEN'S MYSTERY, and also in WRITER'S BLOCK as Charlie. Danny is very excited to be in their third show for this theatre and very much looks forward to whatever comes their way next.

Donivan Cox

Mack / Hawking Clam
DONIVAN COX (MACK / HAWKING CLAM) has been doing Theatre 29’s Summer Youth Program since he was in third grade and his teacher Mrs. Childs thought it would be a good fit for him. His first show was DISNEY’S ALADDIN JR and he became hooked. Donivan’s most recent show was as his first supporting lead, Oliver Rivers, in PUFFS.

Samantha Stevens

Grempkin / Captain Scott
SAMANTHA STEVENS (GREMPKIN / CAPTAIN SCOTT) has been in theatre since right after the pandemic and is excited to be in her third show as a Captain and mean orphan lady. The other 2 shows she has done were PUFFS and DISNEY’S MOANA JR. She can’t wait for others to watch her perform in this show and hopefully many more to come!

Creative Team

Ian Ferris

Artistic Director
IAN FERRIS (ARTISTIC DIRECTOR) has been living and performing in the hi-desert since 2020. In the past few years, he has received multiple nominations and awards from several artistic organizations including Hi-Desert Ovations and Joshua Tree Voice. In 2022. Jericho has had experience co-directing his previous improv troupe, “The Curtain's Up Players”, and is currently co-directing Theatre 29’s new improv troupe known as “The Rotating Players”. Lastly, Jericho has had the opportunity to learn tips and tricks about directing from watching his mom, Rebecca McWilliams, do it all her life. He hopes that you enjoy this performance and see the heart that all of these wonderful volunteers have put into it.

Liyan McNeltier

Musical Director
LIYAN MCNELTIER (MUSICAL DIRECTOR) is grateful for the opportunity to provide musical direction for a “play with music”; an uncommon experience for her so far in theatre! But more importantly, she is honored to contribute to what is Director Ian Ferris’s inspiring work of art and his directorial debut. Her most recent contribution to the arts was as the Musical Director for JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. Prior to this was her own directorial debut with ALMOST LOVE, a cabaret that received 10 Desert Theatre League Star Award nominations. Liyan loves to be both on stage and backstage and is a DTL Star Awards nominated actor and a DTL Star Awards recipient for makeup, music, and direction. She would like to give kudos to the cast for all of their hard work with unexpectedly challenging music as well as thank them for all of their kindness. Finally, Liyan would like to express her gratitude for being even a small part of such an amazing theatrical experience both artistically but also humanistically, as both Ian’s love of arts and people so clearly shine through this production off and on stage.

Lisa Goldberg

Technical Director
LISA GOLDBERG (TECHNICAL DIRECTOR) can often (always?) be seen on and off the stage at Theatre 29. She pretty much does it all around here, from performing to directing and everything in between, including being one of the main box office volunteers. When she is not at the theatre, she is busy teaching 3rd grade at Palm Vista Elementary School, cuddling with her cats or relaxing with her fiancé/planning their upcoming wedding. She is so excited to be a friend to the production that serves as a dear friend's directorial debut here, and hopes you enjoy the beautiful and magical adventure that Ian, Jericho and the cast and crew have created.

Nena Jimenez

Stage Manager
NENA JIMENEZ (STAGE MANAGER) is plying her craft, once again, from behind the curtain. A veteran Stage Manager and skilled technical designer, Nena is happy to be able to put her skills to use in helping to make STARCATCHER a reality. She would like to thank the production team and cast for their vision and their hard work.

Adonai Patu

Lighting Technician
ADONAI PATU (LIGHTING TECHNICIAN) is 14 years old. He has been active in the theatre since the second grade. You may have most recently seen him in the productions of THE HOLLY JOLLY HOLIDAY REVUE and PUFFS here at Theatre 29. He’s currently participating in his school’s drama club and tennis team. He is very excited to be participating in this production and is thankful to all of his friends and family for the support.

Allora Steele

Sound Technician
ALLORA STEELE (SOUND TECHNICIAN) marks her theatrical debut. Although she is not familiar with the inner workings of the theater, she has had a passion for film, and behind the scenes action since she was able to walk. With the help of friends and family, she is finally able to put herself out there, and enjoy the things she loves. She is very excited to start a new adventure.

Maryam Langdon

Spotlight Operator
MARYAM LANGDON (SPOTLIGHT OPERATOR) is very happy to be a part of the production of PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. She loves acting and singing, and she has participated in many previous shows over the past 4 years. Her first show working as a stagehand in COMPANY B: ON THE AIR. She performed on stage for the first-time last season in RAPUNZEL and earlier this season in PUFFS. Maryam is a tech champion, having been doing tech for all four years. In her free time, you can find her reading, playing video games, playing the piano, listening to music, and ranting about Dungeons and Dragons to anyone who would listen. Maryam would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her.
