Marlonius Jazz Orchestra and Mara Kaye: Billie Holiday and The Blues at Sierra Madre Playhouse

Jazz and blues vocalist Mara Kaye joins the Marlonius Jazz Orchestra, led by bassist/composer Marlonius, to celebrate the musical legacy of Billie Holiday. Kaye performs jazz and blues standards with passion and respect for the music's original storytellers, bringing to the stage the emotional power of Billie Holiday and the sorrows and joys of Bessie Smith. Marlonius, a product of the Colburn Conservatory of Music, leads the orchestra in his original compositions and reinterpretations of jazz classics.
