Ghost Songs at Independent Shakespeare Company Studio Theater

A new folk musical about a young Puritan girl named Cat who discovers a trunk of forbidden Shakespeare texts with the help of her housemaid Agnes, who has returned from the American Colony with a secretive past. As the pair grow enchanted by the plays' romance and poetry, they must decide whether to defy family, country, and religion to save the scripts from destruction. The intimate chamber musical explores censorship, courage, and the transformative power of art. It features Christie Coran as Agnes and Jennifer Hardy as Cat, with music and book by David Melville and direction by Leonora Pitts.
