Fania in the Forest at The Goldrich Cultural Center

A staged reading of a coming-of-age television pilot about a rebellious 16-year-old Jewish girl who escapes the Vilna, Lithuania ghetto and fights to earn her place among the male-dominated forest partisans fighting the Nazis. Inspired by the experiences of teenager Fania Yocheles Brantsovsky, the piece was written by Lisa Kenner Grissom and directed by Genevieve Fowler. The cast includes Jordan Bielsky as Lev, Alexa Yeames as Fania, Dor Gvirtsman as Fischel, Clay Hollander as Marek, Sophie Alter as Rochel, and Amy Tolsky.
