DOOFUS is a solo clown performance written and performed by Cole Triplett, directed by Natasha Mercado, presented at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. A charismatic yet deeply flawed landlord takes center stage in a darkly humorous exploration of desire, power, and contradiction, blending satire with vulnerability and absurdist physicality. Triplett, a Houston comedy staple with a background at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, The Groundlings Theatre, and Second City Chicago, embodies a morally questionable character who invites audiences to laugh, cringe, and recognize their own complicated impulses. The show runs approximately 55 minutes and features a sharply bouffon, self-aware edge with big laughs and a provocative twist.
