THE STORYTELLER OF EAST LA Extends for One Week at Latino Theater Company

The Latino Theater Company will present a one-week extension for its world premiere production of The Storyteller of East L.A., with four added performances through May 24. Blending intimate family drama with elements of magical realism, resident playwright Evelina Fernández explores themes of memory loss and the complexities of caring for aging loved ones, while celebrating the sustaining power of love, compassion, storytelling, and the resilience of family.

Written by Evelina Fernández and directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela, the production stars Brenda Banda, Ruth Livier, Sal López, Zilah Mendoza, Blanca Isabella Pallini, and Lucy Rodriguez. The production is presented by Latino Theater Company.

Performances run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m., at The Los Angeles Theatre Center.

Tickets range from $10-$48, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances priced at $48. Discounted $24 tickets are available for students, seniors, veterans, and LAUSD teachers with valid ID, while all Thursday night performances are priced at $10. Free childcare is also available every Sunday during the 2 p.m. matinee.

Additional parking options include $8 validated parking at the Los Angeles Garage Associate Parking structure on Main Street, metered street parking surrounding the theater, and Metro access via the Pershing Square stop.
