A NUMBER to Open at Madnani Theatre in Hollywood

Damien Midkiff and Michael Muniz Vodde will star in a new Los Angeles production of Caryl Churchill's A Number, running September 18–October 11 at the Madnani Theater in Hollywood.
James Paradise will direct the production and produce alongside Midkiff. Midkiff will portray Salter's sons, with Vodde taking on the role of Salter.
In A Number, Salter believes he has only two sons: the troubled child he sent away at four years old and the genetically identical copy he created and raised in his place. He then discovers there are more—many more. When the truth surrounding a long-buried cloning experiment emerges, Salter must confront the consequences of a decision he made decades earlier.
First produced in 2002, Churchill's drama uses human cloning to examine identity, nature versus nurture, personal responsibility and what it means to belong to a family.
Churchill is the author of dozens of works for stage, radio and television across a career spanning nearly seven decades. Her best-known plays include Top Girls, Cloud 9, Love and Information, Serious Money and Far Away. She was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2010.
Paradise's directing credits include What Opa Did, Closer, The Last Romance, Love in the DMZ – A Play in Letters, The Dreamer Examines His Pillow and Rank and File. As an actor, he has appeared Off-Broadway and on Los Angeles stages, as well as in film and television.
Midkiff has performed in New York, Los Angeles and New Orleans, in addition to appearing in television and film. He has received three Storer Boone nominations for his stage work in New Orleans and a Garland Award Honorable Mention for his portrayal of Billy in Sharon and Billy at Open Fist Theatre in Los Angeles.
Vodde has performed and directed on stages across the country, with credits including national tours of Les Misérables and The Music Man and work at New Mexico Repertory, Arizona Theatre Company, A Noise Within, Sierra Repertory, Drury Lane, Lincolnshire Marriott, San Diego Starlight and The Muny. He received LA Drama Critics Circle and Bay Area Critics Circle awards for his performance in Kurt Weill's Berlin to Broadway.
The creative team includes stage manager Mia Condon, set designer Jeff Rack, lighting designer Gregory Crafts, sound designer Nick Foran, Costume Designer Michael Mullen, dialect coach Joy Ellison and graphic designer Alexandria Midkiff.
A Number will play September 18–October 11 at the Madnani Theater, 6760 Lexington Avenue in Hollywood. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25.
