A young novice nun Maria(Nicole Oliva) is sent by her convent to become a governess to the seven children of the widowed naval officer Captain Von Trapp(Solomon Buchman), and leads the Von Trapp family to their 1938 flight to freedom out of Austria. A tuneful, heartwarming story, based on the real life story of the Von Trapp Family singers.
