Northport, NY…The Community Playhouse of Northport (158 Laurel Avenue, Northport), will perform “Nickelodeon The SpongeBob Musical” on April 24th, April 25th, April 26th, May 1st and May 3rd. Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 3:00 PM. This modern family musical is based on the beloved animated television program, and promises non-stop original music composed by current musical artists including John Legend, Sara Bareilles and Lady Antebellum.  It also features witty dialogue with lots of adult humor (and a few dad jokes), high energy dance numbers, and gorgeous sets and costumes.

The musical begins with the citizens of Bikini Bottom discovering that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home. SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, an unexpected hero rises up, as SpongeBob races to save Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob the Musical inspires audiences to root for the underdog, with the uplifting takeaway that optimism can really save the world!

Additionally, prior to the two Sunday matinees, CPN will be hosting “The Bikini Bottom Extravaganza.” This one-hour carnival offers games, crafts, prizes, and a Character Meet and Greet with photo opportunities. The cost is $10 per person (in addition to the show ticket) and includes 1 snack and 1 beverage. Wristbands for the carnival can be purchased at the door.

Tickets to the performances can be purchased on the CPN website (www.communityplayhousenorthport.org/tickets), as well as at the door. All seating is reserved.
