Week two of the Fireside Sessions brings Nancy Atlas together with the brilliant Brian Mitchell for an evening steeped in the soulful spirit of New Orleans.
A master of piano, Hammond B-3 organ, accordion, and vocals, Mitchell’s sound draws from blues, R&B, funk, and roots music, delivering performances that are both electrifying and deeply musical. Known for his high-energy style and rich musical storytelling, he brings a rhythmic pulse and joyful spontaneity that perfectly suit the intimate Fireside Sessions setting.
Mitchell’s remarkable career includes collaborations with some of the most respected names in American music, multiple Grammy Award–winning recordings, and induction into the New York Blues Hall of Fame.
