Award Winning Filmmaker Stevan Mena will be honored and screen his latest film "The Ruse" at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame in Stony Brook Village (97 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY) on September 27th at 1pm. A Q&A will follow the screening with Mena emceed by LIMEHOF Vice Chairman Tom Needham. This is part of LIMEHOF's new Local Long Island Filmmaker's Series. The event is free with general admission ticket purchase. LIMEHOF is now offering special film tickets for $10 for the screening and Q&A only (no access to the exhibits). These film tickets are only available at the counter for purchase on the day of the event. Screenwriter, published novelist, award winning director, editor and composer, Stevan is the quintessential auteur. His films Malevolence, Brutal Massacre: A Comedy, and Bereavement, which he wrote, produced, directed, edited, and composed the score for, have been distributed theatrically worldwide and received numerous festival awards. Bereavement, starring Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson, San Andreas) was chosen as the opening film for UK's horror channel line up. About THE RUSE When the in-home caregiver assigned to an elderly patient mysteriously vanishes, Dale (Madelyn Dundon) is quickly sent as the replacement nurse. She rushes to the remote seaside home, only to find herself in the middle of chaos—forced to deal with an unruly patient, mysterious neighbors, and terrifying supernatural occurrences that seem to plague the home. Is the house haunted? Or is something even more malevolent to blame? As the walls close in, unsure whom she can trust, Dale fears for her life and that of her patient. Starring the legendary Veronica Cartwright (Alien, The Witches of Eastwick), you won’t want to miss this scary thriller that is guaranteed to keep you guessing till the very end!
