Kiss Me Kate is Sponsored in part by Panera
What an absolutely 'Wunderbar' Way to 'Brush Up Your Shakespeare' with CM Performing Arts Center’s KISS ME KATE!
Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate is a timeless, delightful musical romp that can be seen again and again. It's an overblown, joyous account of a theatre company putting up a musical version of 'The Taming of The Shrew'. The musical traces the main relationship between director/leading man Fred and his ex-wife/leading lady Lilli as they respectively portray the Shakespearean roles of Petruchio and Katharine (the Shrew to be tamed, of course!). Fred and Lilli are two divorced egotistical actors who adore one another but just cannot be around each other very long without catastrophic, calamitous results. Thrown into the mix are an ambitious showgirl, a Broadway hoofer with a gambling problem and singing gangsters. Despite Fred's ego and Lilli's fiancé, can the two feuding leads get their act together before the curtain closes on this show?
