Join Donna McKechnie in an intimate journey through her remarkable career in the theatre, a heartfelt and personal reflection of a life dedicated to the arts. Through captivating stories, she shares and celebrates working alongside legendary artists such as Bob Fosse, Gwen Verdon, Michael Bennett, Marvin Hamlisch, and Stephen Sondheim.

This musical memoir features performances of iconic songs from many of the beloved shows she has graced, including A Chorus Line, Company, A Little Night Music, On The Town, Sweet Charity, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. This new show celebrates her lifelong passion for the transformative power of musical theatre.

The 2026 season of the annual concert series Hamptons Summer Songbook By the Sea opens with “An Evening With Norm Lewis” on June 28, followed by Ann Hampton Callaway in “Here’s to Life” on July 11, Klea Blackhurst and Billy Stritch in “Dreaming of a Song: The Music of Hoagy Carmichael” on July 18, and Eric Yves Garcia and Maria Abous in “Beyond Blue Moon (and Before the Broken Hart)” on July 25. The series continues with Barbara Fasano and Eric Comstock in “A Swell-egant, Elegant Party” on August 1, KT Sullivan, Mark Nadler, Christine Pedi, and Stephanie Pope in “Hey, Old Friend! A Cabaret Jubilee” on August 22, Pamela Morgan in “What’s Cooking?” on August 23, and closes with Donna McKechnie in “A Musical Memoir” on August 29. All shows start at 7:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM).

Produced by Donna Rubin and LTV's Creative Director Josh Gladstone, Hamptons Summer Songbook By the Sea offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience Broadway-caliber talent up close in the unique environment of LTV Studios. Cast

Donna McKechnie
Vocalist
Donna McKechnie most recently starred in a successful run as Madame Morrible in the award-winning Broadway show Wicked. A Tony Award recipient for her performance in the original cast of A Chorus Line, she is recognized internationally as one of Broadway’s foremost singing and dancing leading ladies. Donna has also starred in and choreographed productions in London's West End, as well as theatrical performances in Tokyo and Paris. Her Broadway credits include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Education of Hyman Kaplan, Sondheim: A Musical Tribute (which she also choreographed), Promises, Promises, Company, On the Town, State Fair (Fred Astaire Award), and The Visit. Her regional work encompasses performances and choreography in Follies, Mack and Mabel, Gypsy, The Glass Menagerie, Sweet Charity, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, Guys and Dolls, and Annie Get Your Gun. She has appeared in concert and with symphony orchestras nationwide, and on television in specials and series including Fame, Cheers, and Dark Shadows. She was featured in the film Every Little Step and portrayed the Rose in the film The Little Prince. Her memoir, Time Steps: My Musical Comedy Life, was published by Simon & Schuster. In 2019, she was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame.
Ian Herman
Musical Director / Pianist
Ian Herman began his musical career studying classical piano. At the age of thirteen, he was a guest soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. After attending Manhattan School of Music, Ian began working with performers including Jane Olivor, Donna McKechnie, Anita Morris, Judy Kaye, Liliane Montevecchi, Tom Andersen, Dawn Derow, Karen Mason, Sharon McNight, Carole J. Bufford, Marilyn Sokol, Angela LaGreca, Carole Demas, and Joy Behar in nightclubs in New York and around the country. In 1999, he received the Backstage Bistro Award for best Musical Director. He was a pianist and vocal coach on the Broadway revival of Grease, working with guest stars including Al Jarreau, Jon Secada, Sheena Easton, Chubby Checker, and Darlene Love. His other Broadway credits include “Jelly’s Last Jam”, “The Who’s Tommy”, “Song And Dance”, and “Swing”, for which he wrote vocal and dance arrangements. and “Laughing Room Only” with Jackie Mason. He was also the conductor for "The Toxic Avenger" at New World Stages. Recently, Ian released a new solo CD of all original pieces entitled “Images”.
