A farmhouse. A dying patriarch. And a stranger who claims to be family — though no one will admit they know him.
Over one long night, a rural Illinois household's secrets rise to the surface, in this Pulitzer Prize–winning American Gothic from Sam Shepard. Behind the porch and picket fence lie decades of denial, and the lies a family tells to survive itself.
