Soluna Studio To Produce PETER AND THE STARCATCHER

SoLuna Studio will produce the family-friendly, Tony Award winning "play with music" PETER AND THE STARCATCHER as a part their professional mainstage season, with performances running July 13th-29th. Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets purchased in advance at www.SoLunaStudioNY.eventbrite.com are $20. At the door, all tickets are $25. The Tony Award winning "play with music", based on the best-selling novels, upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan. Featuring a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER uses ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination to bring the story to life. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, the production playfully explores the depths of greed and despair, and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER tells the story of a young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain's cabin, which contains a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training who realizes that the trunk's precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful that it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates - led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own - the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

A wildly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's best-selling novels, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER was conceived for the stage by directors, Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, and written by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker.

Founded in 2011, SoLuna Studio is a performing arts studio located at 659 Old Willets Path, Hauppauge, NY, which offers a variety of acting, dance, music, and musical theater classes for children, teens, and adults.
