Quantitative ecologist and National Geographic Explorer Dr. Heather Lynch takes audiences to Antarctica to meet the many species of penguins and other wildlife that inhabit the frozen continent. Lynch has more than a decade of field experience in Antarctica and is an Associate Professor at Stony Brook University with a joint appointment in the Department of Ecology & Evolution and the Institute for Advanced Computational Science. Her research focuses on the population dynamics of Antarctic wildlife, particularly penguins, supported by a large multi-institution National Science Foundation award.
