Acoustic biologist and National Geographic Explorer Ben Mirin leads audiences on an auditory adventure through wildlife symphonies, from birdsong to howling lemurs to whale conversations, exploring what those voices reveal about the planet. Mirin is the founding director of the Creative Conservation Lab in partnership with Cornell University and UNC Chapel Hill, and completed his Ph.D. in 2024 at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology studying birdsong and the wildlife trade in Indonesia. He composes music from his sound recordings and performs live as a wildlife DJ, and is the creator and host of Wild Beats on National Geographic Kids and Nat Geo Wild.
