In an interview with Liza Minnelli published last Thursday, Las Vegas Review Journal columnist Norm Clarke asked her to name her most memorable Vegas show. She responded, "I loved it when Sammy (Davis) and I did a special show at 2 in the morning after we had both done shows," Minnelli said. "We did a special show for entertainers. It was at the Riviera, and it was sensational."

In town for a three-night stand at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, Minnelli said she'd like to revive the tradition of shows performed especially for gypsies.

After her closing show on Saturday night, she had dinner with Luxor president Felix Rappaport. He later announced that, when Liza returns Thanksgiving weekend the time-honored and too-long-gone tradition will be revived. Word is, according to Clarke, the show will take place most likely at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 25.

Meanwhile, Clarke also asked her if, like Elton John, Céline Dion, Barry Manilow and Toni Braxton, she'd consider a resident stand in Vegas. She said, "The show is so difficult. I don't think I can do it every night. I can do it three nights in a row; then I need a day off."

She added, "My vocal chords are made of iron, thank God."
