The Brightest It’s Ever Been is a play about anxiety. Playwright Kayli Slayden used her personal experiences to highlight the low-lights of living with a mental illness and to spread the message that you are not alone in your struggles. The story follows Jamie, an anxious teenage girl, and the (not so) little nagging voice in her head as they navigate what seems to be a normal day for Jamie, but a frightening one for those around her.
