Executive Director
With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, the Executive Director is the public face of the OCCA, providing leadership to the organization while expanding the organization’s reach. As the chief development officer for the organization, the Executive Director, is tasked with working with donors, foundations, and other grantors to secure and shepherd diverse funding streams for the organization and its programs.

Regular, Full-Time Exempt Employee Status
Competitive Salary Commensurate with Experience

Primary Location: Newport Performing Arts Center, Newport, Oregon
Flexible Schedule to be determined which may include nights and weekends as needed as well as travel along the Oregon Coast.

Immediate Supervisor: OCCA Board of Directors
Supervises: Facility Directors, Bookkeeper, Communications Coordinator, Development Coordinator.
Total Staff: 10

Essential Job Functions
Actively promote OCCA’s programs, accomplishments, mission, goals, and objectives to all constituents
Provide innovative and progressive leadership for the organization, the PAC, and the VAC
Serve as the key liaison to community and city leaders, school leadership, community-based organizations, and others
Maintain current relationships with Oregon Coast arts organizations while forging new relationships with previously unengaged arts organizations
Facilitate and support the strategic plan of the organization
Provide stewardship for existing grant funding while exploring new grant sources and funding streams
Support current PAC/VAC programs as needed
Coordinate the annual community meeting of the Board
Create and administer the annual operational budget of the organization
Support OCCA’s relationship as fiscal agent with local organizations and coalitions

First Priorities
Oversee and fundraise for the final phase of the OCCA capital campaign
Create and implement a plan for the post-pandemic opening of the PAC based on city and county guidelines
Hire appropriate staff based on newly updated staffing model
Create a data-driven system for evaluating the success of OCCA programs

5+ years progressive supervision experience in a nonprofit setting, preferably in the arts and with fundraising and grant writing experience.
Proven fundraising track record
5+ years of experience in fiscal management, grant writing, stewardship and reporting
Experience dealing with complex financial reporting and negotiating and executing contracts
Significant public speaking and presentation experience with the ability to interact successfully with patrons, staff, and the board
Experience creating and supporting organization strategic plans

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Arts Management, Nonprofit Management, MBA or similar
Experience with TIX Ticketing and Event Management Software and DonorView
Previous experience serving on a nonprofit board
Passion for the arts
