Assistant Stage Manager - American Ballet Theatre

AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE, America’s National Ballet Company, seeks a highly self-motivated individual for the Assistant Stage Manager position. ABT is a large, culturally diverse touring ballet company based in NY. The successful candidate will have a positive, supportive attitude and flexible personality with an ability to adapt and remain calm in high-stress situations, the ability to multi-task, great organizational skills with an attention to detail, and a willingness to work long hours. Candidate should be comfortable with Mac computers and proficient with Microsoft Suite; knowledge of FilemakerPro and experience with Video/Audio editing helpful. Experience with dance and/or music preferred. Specific duties will include maintaining and updating extensive video and CD library to digital formats, setting props and AV for all rehearsals, archival paperwork for shows including deck running sheets and props lists, the hiring and coordinating of supernumeraries for all ballets, working with union crews in theatres around the world, and supporting the PSM and SM as well as the entire production department as needed. Touring experience preferred; willingness to travel required. BA, BFA or equivalent experience preferred. The stage managers of ABT are represented by the American Guild of Musical Artists.
