1776 To Return To Alhambra Theatre
The Jacksonville theater last performed 1776 in 2018.
The Alhambra Theatre & Dining has announced the return of the Tony Award-winning musical 1776, running May 14 through June 14. The Alhambra last produced 1776 in 2018, and this new staging will show a new perspective while keeping with the themes that have made the show a classic.
1776 follows John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and their fellow delegates as they navigate the intense debates, political tensions, and personal conflicts that ultimately led to America’s independence.
Headlining the production is Kevin Anderson, known to audiences for his role in Sleeping with the Enemy and fresh off his performance in Morning After Grace. Anderson will reprise his role as John Adams.
“Bringing 1776 back to the Alhambra stage during this milestone moment in our nation’s history feels especially meaningful,” said Managing Partner, Craig Smith. “It’s a story about courage, compromise, and conviction—qualities that still resonate today.”
1776 will be performing May 14 through June 14 at the Alhambra Theatre located at 12000 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. Tickets are now on sale at the Alhambra Theatre website or by calling the Alhambra box office at 904-641-1212.
