Their ongoing conflict escalates when Romeo, a Montague, and Juliette, a Capulet, fall in love. The young lover exchange secret vows, but a fight breaks out between the two houses within hours. Seeking to avenge the death of his friend, Mercutio, Romeo challenges Tybalt, Juliette cousin and nephew of Count Capulet, to a duel and kills him. The Duke of Verona then exiles Romeo. Juliette plans with Frere Laurent to fake her death with a potion to avoid marrying Paris. Romeo, having not received the Freres message explaining the plan, secretly returns and thinking Juliette truly dead, kills himself before discovering the truth.This concert features the world-class vocal talents of Stacey Trenteseaux, Eric Botto, Andre Chiang, Kimberly Sogioka, Michael Nansel, and Luke Scott. Directed by Patrick Jacobs, with Dr. Jay Dean conducting the Natchez Festival of Music Chamber Orchestra.
