The Everyman Sunday Songbook is delighted to bring its new show Laughter in the Rain: The Neil Sedaka Story to The Everyman stage.The Sunday Songbook team, in their unique way, celebrate the life of Neil Sedaka, American pop singer, pianist, composer and record producer. And what a life story he has had! He was described in the Guinness Book of Hit Singles as the man who put the Tra la la la into 60s pop music. Since he exploded onto the music scene in the late 50s / early 60s with a string of hit singles like Calendar Girl and Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, Sedaka has sold over 70 million records, written or co-written over 500 songs for both himself and musical icons like Sinatra, Abba, Connie Francis, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, has a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame and enjoyed renewed TV success in recent years on American Idol.
