Written by Hannah Ii-Epstein, this is the second play in the trilogy All Buss Up in a HI State. Junior Boy, a young Hawaiian man from a lineage of marijuana growers on the North Shore of Oʻahu, is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Nani when unexpected and heartbreaking events unfold during a night of karaoke, beer, and weed. The play explores the medical, cultural, and historical aspects of marijuana in pre-contact Hawai'i. Serving as a prequel to Not One Batu, it follows Papa's family and the hardships arising when indigenous values are systematically marginalized.
